I was reading an edition of Uncle John’s Bathroom Reader, when I came across this quote. (Bathroom readers are great sources for random information.)

“A lie can travel halfway around the world before the facts have even put their boots on.” – Mark Twain

It sounds awfully familiar. It’s from the Terry Prachett book, The Truth. We saw the play The Truth back in April. Just thought that I would share that with people.

Have a mellow Sunday!

A lie can run round the world before the truth has got its boots on.

- Terry Pratchett, The Truth

On Sunday, Cory and I went to a Reed College student production of The Truth. Amazingly, everything from the book was in the play (at least from what I remember about the plot).

The Truth takes place on Discworld and is about the first newspaper, and the story of two journalists, two dwarves, a talking dog, four mentally unstable bums (one bad smell), two Pulp Fiction style assassins, and an assortment of interestingly shaped vegetables against the backdrop of the creation of investigatory journalism in this crazy world.

Go see it if you ever get a chance, but don’t forget your potato.
