Tonight, I was sitting on the bed, sewing a button on to a leather bag which I had made. Emma came up and started eating the string. She was looking pretty goofy. I started chuckling because of her actions. Cory asked me, “What was up?” I told him that Emma was eating string. His response was…
“You’re letting OUR at eat string.”
I just couldn’t resist letting that “OUR” pass on by. *Laugh* Cory’s response was to close his eyes, groan and shake his head. Emma didn’t seem to moved one way or another regarding her new co-owner.
So, Debbie, Neil, Luis and Alison. Cory’s got a new pet.
HAPPY 5th of JULY!
I’m trying to think of what I have been doing since June 12th but it’s all fuzzy. Here’s a short run down of what we have been doing over the past three weeks or rather, what I can remember doing over the past few weeks.
June 17th – I drove down to Dundee, OR to pick up some fabric dye for the wool blankets/cloaks. I was also planning on going into work that day. ha ha ha! Yeah, right. I ended up dyeing the blankets and my hands several pretty shades of blue (the blankets, my hands looked rather sickly). Here’s what I have learned about dying fabric. 1. Read the directions, 2. Wear gloves, 3. Weigh the fabric to make sure you have enough dye.

June 21st – I went to my first SCA A&S night. It was fun. I ended up cutting out my dress pattern with embroidery scissors. Not the most effective way to go.
June 23rd to June 27th – Beach Vacation!!! – I need to upload some photos but there will be a post about how our vacation went. I fell in love while at the beach. I’ll talk about it later. Cory knows and he’s okay with my new love.

June 28th & June 29th – Back to work. I was trying to catch up from before my vacation and pick up loose threads. I know that I was productive but as far as paperwork to show that I was productive. I couldn’t tell you one way or another.
June 30th – Cory and I met up with Travis and Vero to go play mini golf at Bulwinkle’s Family Fun Center about 10pm. We were the last group of people to leave. The poor manager that was waiting for us to finish our game. We made it through 22 holes or so. I came in dead last both games.
July 2nd – Cory and I went to see Transformers on opening night, first showing at the mall. This was the best movie that I have seen this summer. Aside from not having a very strong plot, everything else was awesome! Explosions, humor, super bureaucrats, and a Camero that was like Dennis’ way back in high school! I’d recommend people go and watch this movie in the theaters.
July 3rd – Cory rented Mario Party 8 and we ended up playing that for several hours. It felt so strange to be staying up till 12:30 or so on a week night. I would say that I’ve gotten used to working 5 days per week.

July 4th – My main goal was to sleep in and eat a burger topped with Riverhouse Blue cheese dressing (they sell the dressing in stores, but here’s a picture of me, Cory, his step-cousin Jake and step-grandfather Bob eating at the actual Riverhouse restaurant). I didn’t exactly get to sleep in (blame the cat) but I did get to eat the burger. It was so damn good! I also made bread pudding for the first time. Not the healthiest recipe in the world but there are worse ones out there.

Isn’t she so cute?
July 5th – Updating the blog after a few week hiatus.
